Some Tips for Batman Collectors

I’ve finished Batman: Arkham Asylum now. Well, I’ve finished the story line, gotten all the upgrades, and found/solved all 240 of the Riddler challenges. What’s left is getting “gold” on the various challenge maps, which I probably won’t do.

For my fellow friends working through it, please allow me to save you about three hours of frustration. All cut for spoilers.

Missing Joker Teeth from the Mansion?

You may find yourself exiting the Mansion and still missing 3 teeth. This is rough; I spent easily an hour and a half scouring the damned mansion for them (they were the last thing on my list, and I was totally committed at that point).

The Warden’s Office has a fucking second floor. You won’t notice it at all because you don’t *need* to – except to get the damned teeth. Stand by the door to the corridor and look up; you’ll see a grapple point.

Missing Lore Tablet?

So, I found myself having completed all 240 riddles. And yet, I was still missing a Lore tablet. WTF? (Furious scrolling through the lists to see if one hadn’t been tripped). Nope.

Well, okay. If you’re like me, you pretty much ignored the Lore as it was spoken. I just shut it off half the time. That’s, uh, well. If you listen to the Lore, you’ll gradually realize that the “Spirit of Arkham” is an actual person, and the last one you find says “come and find me”.

So you need to go back to where you left this person, once you figure it out, and scan them (or what remains). You can’t do it until you’ve got the last “findable” lore, btw, so even if you figure it out early (possible) it won’t work.

(There is one person you meet in the game who you don’t get a “bio” page for. It’s them.)

Other Random Crap

There are two Riddler trophies on the island things you glide to from the Batcave. Once you have the map, you’ll see them on there and wonder HTF you’ll get there. One is on the first island, the second is on a little cliff after the second island. There are two jump off points on that island.

There’s a brutally hard Riddler trophy that you’ll find. Both of them are in a cave located *above* the entrance to the Batcave next to Intensive Therapy. There are two of them right next to each other, separated by iron bars. You can get one easily enough through the entrance. The other, not so much: head to the batcave BUT DO NOT go through the iron door. Turn around, use SuperBatclaw. (The map could be a bit less confusing about this, I think).

Which reminds me, remember how to get to the Batcave. It took me forever to figure out how to get back to the “front door” (the lower cave next to Intensive Therapy, past the garden wall – just keep going).

Boss Fights
It took me a bit of time to realize that Poison Ivy gets hurt by the batarang even if the flower isn’t open. As you fight her and dodging vines and goons, every other button click should be Quick Batarang. Otherwise this fight gets frustrating.

For the “Two Titans plus a Shitton of Goons” fight, I got nothing. Godspeed, my friend; I think I lucked through that. Ignore the goons; focus on the Titans. KO one of them ASAP; after that it’s easy town.
